I'm compiling OpenWRT in parallel. However if I add a compile error to a
package and use the output-sync option, there is a ton of output missing. With
unbuffered output, there are six times as many lines in the output as with
--output-sync, and the output is four times the size. So with --output-sync
there is a ton of output missing, including the error message, and the entire
package it's in.
[bug #56914] Most output missing when building with --output-sync
Follow-up Comment #1, bug #56914 (project make):
There's not nearly enough information here to do anything with this issue.
Which output-sync mode did you choose? What operating system are you building
on? Is this behavior consistent?
I use --output-sync=target all day every day (I have it set in my default
GNUMAKEFLAGS environment variable) on fairly large builds both at home and in
$DAYJOB and I haven't had any missing output... so without more details I'm
not sure what else I can do.
You might try emailing [hidden email] if you want to start some sort of
debugging session to figure out what's going on; it can be simpler than using
the bug tracker for these types of conversations.
